As the New Year rolls in, we gear up to welcome our first festival across the country; Makara Sankranti ( Pongal in Tamilnadu. Til-Gud in Maharashtra, and Lohri in the North) Makara Sankranti celebrates the end of winter and the beginning of longer, warmer days. It coincides with the harvest season, making it a festival of gratitude to the sun, to Mother Nature and to farmers whose hard work sustains us. Though Sankranti has always been a festival of simplicities, it is
